Mica Li, the Chief Operator Officer of S.T.A.R. was nominated 2025 “Albany Youth of the Year” with $1000 Scholarship
Mica was one of the founders of the extraordinary student-created and student-run Sundrop Tutoring and Robotics program at Albany High School that supports neurodivergent students meet their academic potential. Mica has been a steady and consistent member, growing into leadership over these many years. Mica has overcome many hurdles and worked extra hard to plan and reach his academic and service- oriented goals. He now leads as the student Chief Operations Officer, Tutor and Summer Camp Counselor. This program has a very special place in Mica’s heart because he can relate first-hand to the kids who participate in this program, as he too, has always required unconventional, more exploring ways of learning. Another wonderful highlight to mention about Mica is that he was the one back in 2022 who put in the footwork to revamp the Albany High L.E.O. Club after it had ended due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Mica has served as President/Co-President of the club for the past two years and will continue in this role for the current school year, participating in the many service projects which help our local community.
An honor dinner was held at Hua Thai Kitchen on 11/13/2005 to give thanks and recognition.
