Built a Levitator Demostration Device

The team met every Friday after school to build a levitator device as demonstration and a teaching tool for the flow lab in UC-Berkeley. After six months of experimenting and research, they created an interactive device which is controlled by by a programmed Arduino and an auto objects feeder. The operator can push a button and see the objects were fed and float midair like there is invisible force working against gravity. The invisible force is actually standing sound wave generated by many microphones. The team produced a one-page slide to explain the working principle of the levitator. (The photo was taken in the Etcheverry hall at UC-Berkeley. From left to right: Mica, Jordan, Andy, Professor Makihaju. In their back is the levitator demo device they built and installed. )
